Still life and life study

We had another still life class where we used a branch from a tree to dip in Indian ink. 

I forgot to post yesterday but we covered our paper in chalk and drew with our eraser 

Night fun

When it's dark, it's fun taking photos against artistic backgrounds

My floor

My floor is harry potter themed and each person is assigned a color. When they feel like they accomplished something, they can put it in their color and whichever color had the most, the end of the program party is themed on that particular house 

Lido beach outing

Today we went to lido Beach. I sat near some friends from Italy and Switzerland. 

The drive there was really nice 

along the way, I saw this person riding what appears to be a Segway but without the handles. Idk what it's called, I've never seen it before 

The beach was really nice but there weren't a lot of waves to surf 

Late night bingo

I was close on the blackout but....I didn't win a big bag of food 

Community service

For the community service project we made fairy houses that they will put into the historic nature forest in Sarasota. Gaby helped me out. 

Early morning sewing class

For the weekends, they have many activities available to us. Today they have the option for a sewing class or community service. I am choosing com. Service  

New animations

Tonight during studio time I worked on a few more animation projects. I worked on a maze, a bouncig ball, and a robot

Flip book Mickey Mouse

Today we made flip books and I decided to base mine off of mickey.

Some people are interesting, including this girl who can walk and balance her sketchbook and water bottle on top. 

Art school

Since we or at an art school there's lots of graffiti. 

Immersion class drawing for animation

Today the teacher critiqued peoples work      We got feedback and some notes. However I still need to go back to the studio tonight and refinish/refine my characters 

3D designing with wire

This morning I had a class where we are designing an object with wire. We sketch it and design it based on what we could do to complete the object using wires connected to eachther. My object that I am creating is a kings peice 

Academic center

We have morning classes in the academic hall. That is also where we have the presentations. 

11pm.... :/

Unfortunately I still need to complete some sketches for "homework" and after modeling in maya for my still life, I accidentally saved in te wrong place and the design was deleted which means I will need to make a smaller version of a still life and most likely will not receive full credit.... Oh well

Walmart trip

Today we walked to walmart for a small field trip

2D digital design morning class

We drew 2D designs of animals. This was a morning class and we do not have any more classes today because it's Wednesday. 

Late night Computer science

During free time a friend demonstrated what they've programmed. We worked on web design and back end programming 

Modeling in Maya (the real deal ;) )

My first homework assignment in the computer animation class was model a still life photo/painting/etc in Maya. Although it looks simple, it takes a long time to do if you are new to the program. It took me 2 hours to do the bottom modeling and that is not my finished model. It's fun once you get the hang of it but can be city difficultly to light correctly.

Presentation room

We had to stop our second class and go to a career presentation. Today it's about photography and imaging. The theatre is kinda small but big enough for all of us.

The studio is very big and I like the atmosphere. 

Still life morning class

This morning I had figure drawing/still life and we drew a a model with different poses. 

Ping pong and after hours

Every day we have "studio time" where we are required to do one hour of studio work on our projects. It's like homework but at our studio. After 7-8 at our studio we have free time. Curfew is at 11:30 so pretty late. We can hang out in the commons. They have ping pong tables, pool tables, food, piano, pin ball machine open till 11:30. These are my friends Gaby, and Tillman (from Germany). 

First day of classes

The cafeteria is pretty big and we get an hour of dinner and half an our of lunch/breakfast 

This is my first immersion class, drawing for animation  We started with character design using blobs as our outline. We had to draw a character in 30-60 seconds. 

We went into the library to check out useful design books. It's pretty big

We drew a stil life display using charcoal. 

Made it! Can't wait to start the first day tomorrow!
